We find investment opportunities through our decades' worth of deep industry contacts in hardware, software, and advanced manufacturing. We've served as Entrepreneurs in Residence at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. We also have close contact with engineers and professors developing intellectual property in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and advanced materials. We are actively expanding our relationships with other university tech transfer programs—programs from Montana State University and the University of South Dakota are just two examples.
We perform the same level and depth of due diligence on the companies we partner with as the most experienced venture capital companies perform because we’ve been behind the due diligence for several of the top VC firms in the country. We've also done deep-level consulting work with over 100 venture- capital-backed startups, so we know what it takes to start, build, pivot (when necessary), and exit an investment opportunity.
